MESQUITA

MOTORS

Mesquita Motors is a family owned and operated, small engine repair business based out of Salt Lake City, UT.

After seeing so many perfectly good machines thrown away or put on the curb due to minor repairs needed, we discovered a lack of affordable at-home repair services in our community. Built on the value “repair before replacing”, we created this business to provide honest recommendations, at-home repair services at reasonable rates, and judgment-free education so our customers feel empowered to confidently use and maintain their equipment. Together we can reduce the amount of equipment that ends up in landfills, and save you money!

Lucas Mesquita is our lead mechanic and all around “Mr. Fix It”! As a lifelong Utahan, he has worked every dirty job in the book across the Valley– From being a garbage man to a diesel mechanic, he has experience maintaining equipment of all sizes. He began making house calls for snow blower repairs and realized just how valuable his small engine repair skills had become within his community. He loves being able to help his customers, takes pride in his ability to fix just about anything, and always takes the time to explain his process and answer questions.

Madison Boerner is our in-house graphic designer and office manager. A New Hampshire native, she graduated from Keene State College in 2020 with a B.F.A. in Graphic Design and Printmaking. With the world on pause due to the pandemic, she headed out on her third cross-country road trip. On a whim, she found herself in Salt Lake City for the first time (and by “whim” I mean, her car broke down). With her car in the shop for a few days, a friend-of-a-friend let her crash in their garage... And despite sleeping on a concrete floor, she fell in love with the city and officially moved back in May 2021.

In March 2023, Madison and Lucas combined their unique skill sets and became full time business owners. In a full circle moment, Mequita Motors opened shop in the same garage Madison stayed in years earlier… and it’s still our headquarters today! Thankfully, no one has to sleep out there now. And if your car breaks down…

We know a guy.
